Week of October 8 - 12
Check out our blog post to learn what your students will be working on next week in each subject!Reading: Next week we will be reading Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Bad Beginning. Students will work on comparing and contrasting points of view in fiction texts, including the difference between first- and third-person narrations. The reading strategy we will be working on this week is predicting.
Math: Students will be learning how to find patterns with a given set of numbers/shapes.
Grammar/Writing: Students will start our second unit of writing, which is about writing opinion and personal essays. Students will also learn about relative pronouns.
Social Studies/Science: Students will have a test on the American Revolution on Tuesday, October 9. A study guide has gone home this past Tuesday for students to begin preparing. On Wednesday, we will begin our second science unit on Light.
