Reading:
This week in reading, students will be learning how to interpret visual information in a text and explain how it helps them understand the text.
Math:
This week in math, students will continue to learn about equivalent fractions. Students will work to solve problems with fractions using bar models and number lines. Students will learn to first label number lines and then compare number lines to find equivalencies.
Grammar:
Students will continue to learn about similes and metaphors. Students will create their own similes and will create drawings of similes and metaphors in action.
Writing:
Students are writing an informational writing piece with several chapters on a Revolutionary War topic (person, event, etc.). Students will have to research and write on this topic over several weeks. Students will write an introduction all about the American Revolution before writing about their chosen Revolution topic.
Social Studies:
Students will be learning about the three branches of government at the federal, state, and local level. Students need to understand the three branches were created to check and balance out the others.
