Dear Families,
Students are learning about the solar system in class and will be completing a project on the Solar System at home. In order to show what they have learned, students will create their own 3D model of the Solar System. This will be a major grade of this unit, so students should do their best work. The fourth grade team encourages students to be creative to show what they have learned. Here are the requirements for their project:
• You must include the Sun and all 8 planets.
• You must keep all planets in proportion. For example: The Sun should be the largest object and Jupiter should be the largest planet. Mercury should not be larger than Earth. Use the Solar System Diagram on the powerpoint shared in your google classroom for help with proportion.
• The planets, sun and moon’s colors should be accurate.
For more information on the planets and to view the rubric please view the Solar System Project powerpoint found in your child’s google classroom or visit http://bit.ly/2cfDfCW. All projects are due Friday, September 23 for grading. Students will share their projects on Monday, September 26.
