Week of March 25-29

Reading: Students will learn about three different types of informational text. Students will use information within the text to explain cause and effect relationship and describe historical or scientific events.








Math: Students will continue reviewing for their unit 5 math post test. This test focuses on adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers, multiplying fractions by whole numbers, and decomposing fractions with visual models. Check out the sample test questions here!



Grammar: Students will learn about progressive verbs. Progressive verbs are verbs that use a form of the helping verb "to be" in front of an action verb ending in -ing.



Writing: Students will learn on how to analyze a writing prompt and use details within a text to support their writing. This will help them prepare for the writing portion of the Georgia Milestones. 

Science:  Students will finish learning what causes the seasons and review for the science quiz. This quiz will focus on what causes seasons, day and night, and science vocabulary. The study guide will be sent home on Monday.

Week of March 18 - 22

Week of March 18 - 22

Important Dates:
Monday, March 18th: NO SCHOOL for students

March 20-22nd Early Release (Dismiss at 12:20)

Reading: This week in reading, students will review summarizing and making inferences within a text.

 

Math: This week in math, students will be reviewing for the Unit 5 post test (this will be the following Friday, March 29th). Students will review decomposing fractions, adding and subtracting fractions, line plots with fractions and multiplying fractions by whole numbers.












Grammar: This week we will only have 1 day of grammar due to Early Release. On this day, we will review ordering adjectives.



Writing: This week we will only have 1 day of writing due to Early Release. On this day, students will complete milestone writing practice.

Science: This week we will only have 1 day of science due to Early Release. On this day, students will continue to learn about what causes the seasons.
